This department has taken on a very important role in the company and, together with the Marketing Department, is the main driving force for the design and development of new products.
It currently has a team of over 20 people and its budget has almost quadrupled since 2001.
1. The creation and development of new products.
2. The development of nutrition projects (including collaboration with the NAOS Strategy for Nutrition, Physical activity and the Prevention of Obesity) to encourage healthy living habits among the population and to adapt to new trends in healthy eating.
3. The optimisation of costs and functionality of products and maintenance of their proven quality standards
The R+D+i team works closely with a series of technology centres and universities in order to share know-how and experience. The result is the production of more innovative and higher quality products.

This department also works with a series of external suppliers in the prototyping phase of some products, which gives the development process added value.
